For instance this years annual "Celebrate the "Release" was an event to be reckoned with as we had awesome speakers and presentations with dynamic entertainment and a powerful keynote speaker. However the part that brought almost everyone to tears was the period of the program that was labeled the "call to release". It was the moment where all the speakers that were also survivors on program stood before the audience and did a plea for all victims that was present in the audience to come forward as we prayed for their release or the beginning or final phase of it. It was more than just an addition to the program...it was an experience!
The movement was powerful as not only did victims of sexual trauma was empowered but victims of domestic violence, drug and alcohol addiction and so much more. During this time I realized that this is a work that must be continued at all cost as lives are being restored as chains are being broken. I knew at that standing moment that this calling was much more that I could ever comprehend. Although it is greater than I am...I am determined to do my part and complete my assignment in this project. So many lives are affected by sexual and domestic violence which equates to there is so much work to do as far as making sure that they are made whole.
I have accepted my call in making this world a better place by hope to be apart of the healing restoration process of so many broken lives. Yes... I, Lavinia am "released" and I am ready to go back to release so many other victims from the bondage of pain and despair that sexual and domestic violence causes along with other traumatic experiences.
I pray that you are excited with me as this is not just an assignment but an experience. Celebrate the 'release' with me as lives are beginning to be set free.
Be blessed!
