Cornyn Pushes Bill To Eliminate Rape Kit Backlog « CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

The road to getting the government to fund the rape it backlog has been long and tedious but worth the fight!  Thank you to Senator Cornyn and all other representatives that have made this journey worth the while as we work to save so many lives that have been lost to delayed rape kit examinations.

I have been an advocate since 2005 and that was when I first discovered that there was such a thing as a backlog and at that moment I was determined to take back our lives!  Please share this video and rejoice with me as I am excited that we are finally making progress.

BREATHE AGAIN

"Breathe Again" is the title of my first book that is basically a true story of my encounter with the monster of sexual assault or better known as RAPE .  Many of you are familiar with my story and how a rapist entered the window of our home and violently raped me at knife point and I was only 13 years old!  This was a horrific life changing event for me and all that dared to share in my chaotic world.  I went through all the trials and tribulations that a victim goes through after being violated except I did not have the therapeutic insights of counselors and psychologist but the prayers and teachings of a higher power from my grandmother and mother.

The vision of "Breathe Again" is beginning to evolve and manifest even 9 years later after God first birth it in me.  The book and then the spoken word CD that was put together in 2010 with the help of producer and fellow survivor/advocate Eugene Brooks.  My latest project is to take the Breathe Again: The Evolution to the next level.  My vision as I hear the spirit speak is to spread my message of hope, survival and healing worldwide by the distribution of the book and CD to survivors everywhere.
